Special Initiative:
Syria Crisis Drawdown Fund

Established in early 2016, the Syria Crisis Drawdown Fund is an internal pool of funding for The ELMA Relief Foundation to draw down from to support organizations responding to the Syrian regional crisis.

Recognizing the magnitude and the protracted nature of this crisis across a widespread geographic region, this internal fund was established with a multi-year timeframe and streamlined approval process designed to allow staff to identify and develop multiple opportunities for ELMA to support responding agencies.

Since 2016, allocations from the Syrian Refugee Crisis Drawdown Fund have supported Catholic Relief Services, The International Rescue Committee, and War Child Holland to provide protection, psychosocial support, education, primary health, and early childhood development programs serving Syrian refugees and host populations in Jordan and Lebanon.
