The KPFP is made up of a consortium that includes the Kenya Paediatric Research Consortium (Keprecon)/ Kenya Paediatric Association (KPA), the Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI), and four key training institutions in Kenya: University of Nairobi, Moi University, Aga Khan University, and Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital.

Over the next four years, the program aims to:

  • Increase the number of pediatric specialists in Kenya’s public sector by enrolling 141 trainees in post-basic/post-graduate training—24 pediatric sub-specialists, 87 pediatric nurses, and 30 nurse-midwives

  • Improve the quality of pediatric specialist training in Kenya by establishing three new fellowship programs—Neonatology at the University of Nairobi and Moi University, and Hematology-Oncology at Moi University
